Who is Miss Monster?

img_0411b

My name is Melita Curphy but please call me Melly. I am a self employed artist living in southern California.

Over the last thirteen years my work has seen a wide spectrum of ideas and media. From being an illustration techniques instructor, creating T- shirt graphics to making monster costumes, from hand sewing my own mixed media dolls to partnering with Glitch Network to produce a 1/6 action figure series…it’s been a fun job!

The majority of my time is spent producing pieces for my online store. I design all the items there and make most of them by hand.  I have also had the opportunity to create artwork for companies such as Sideshow Collectibles, Cryptozoic Entertainment, animation for A Scanner Darkly , character designs for Dreamworks and private commissioned work for collectors such as Guillermo Del Toro. I also attend Monsterpalooza and Designercon yearly.

I can be contacted at missmonsterstore at gmail dot com. Due to my current schedule I’m not open to commissioned work for individual collectors.

My original work can be purchased directly from me here: My online shop
