Krampus doll

Krampus doll is on ebay!

Season’s Beatings! Krampus is a companion of Saint Nicholas in Germanic folklore. While St. Nicholas rewards the good children with lovely gifts, Krampus whisks the bad ones away in his sack to be punished. He carries a bundle of birch branches to administer beatings to particularly nasty offenders! Krampus is still a figure in modern folklore with people dressing up as him to march in city streets for Krampusnacht, administering whippings and rattling chains to scare children. The Krampus figure is known by different names and portrayals between regions.
This is a one of a kind handmade doll. The head, horns, hands and hooves are cast in resin from an original sculpt. Glass eyes. The body is faux fur stuffed with plastic pellets in the butt to weigh the doll for sitting display, the rest is stuffed with plush polyfill. Non articulated floppy style doll.
A one of a kind leather sack with straps has been made to fit this doll. It is made from high quality cow leather lined with rabbit fur. Brass buckles and hardware, removable. Children not included. The silver piece connecting the straps across his chest is made from cast resin with a glass eye. It is loosely based on black forest trophy patterns. This doll also wears a belt which has been adorned with charivari which are small traditional hunting trophy charms usually worn across the waist of lederhosen. The charms include cast resin skulls, a glass bottle, a carved wood skull bead, a feather charm and metal bells. Krampus’ necklace includes buffalo teeth, wood and seed beads, quartz and other minerals. His chunky hair is made from shaped wool with brass rings. His cuff bracelet is metal with dangly charms and can be worn by his owner!

Krampus carries his birch branch in the form of cinnamon branches lashed with leather and cord. I’m working on a removable silicon lolling tongue , ill post photos once it’s ready ( if it ends up looking cool) This doll also sports a long flexible silicon tail.

This art piece is 18″ from horn to hoof. It is the most detailed, complicated doll i have made so far! It will make a wonderful Christmas decoration though i do hope he gets displayed year round.

While Krampus can be held and cuddled ( if you are into that sort of thing) he is very much an art piece and is not meant for young children. Please treat him with care!

I do not do private commissions. Each of my dolls are put together by hand which takes a lot of time… i can’t make exact copies of previous dolls or take requests for upcoming work. Thank you!
